Merchants are assigned a category by their own payment processor, and Trovy doesn't control those assignments or take responsibility for them. If a home services merchant isn't assigned one of the categories above, the purchase won't qualify for a Home Credit even if the service otherwise looks eligible.

What doesn't earn a Home Credit

Home Credits pay for services performed on your home. Goods, materials, and supplies don't qualify, even at a home-related merchant. They still earn 2% back in Home Categories8; they just don't draw on your quarterly credit.

  • Materials and supplies

Lumber, paint, tile, and hardware bought at a home improvement warehouse or hardware store.

  • Appliances and fixtures you buy

Buying a new dishwasher is a retail purchase. Paying someone to repair one is a service.

  • Furniture, décor, and garden center goods

Anything off the shelf, including plants and soil, rather than work performed at your home.

How to claim your credit

  1. Pay with your Trovy HELOC credit card

  2. Log in and select the purchase to redeem for a Home Credit

  3. The credit posts to your statement
